All the organizations listed here are engaged in work arising from the inspiration of Rudolf Steiner, philosopher and educator, who was active in Europe during the first quarter of the 20th Century. His best-known legacy are the Waldorf or Steiner schools, founded in 1919, and now numbering over 800 world-wide. Rudolf Steiner also brought renewal in other areas: agriculture (bio-dynamics); anthroposophical medicine; movement (eurythmy); speech, drama, and gymnastics; the visual arts; the social sciences and economics; work with the developmentally disabled (Camphill Villages, for example), to name but a few.
The Anthroposophical Society in America cannot be held responsible for any organization listed in this directory.
