We all love trees. Maybe it’s because their beauty increases as they age, struggling patiently through the ravages of sun, storms and ice. Or maybe it’s their uprightness and individuality and graciousness that we so connect with. When, we grow our tree through painting into the landscape or garden we’ve prepared for it, we are also growing ourselves. And when we revisit our tree from season to season (and each is individual enough that we come to recognize it), we’re glad to see it again—see how it’s doing, help it along. And in the process, we become our own gardeners.

Phoebe Alexander

from the New York Botanical Garden School of Horticulture.

Future programs: Spring Tree, Apr 22; Summer Tree, June 24.

This single session is $40/$30 & $30/$20 (or 2 freq. discount tickets), plus $5 materials paid in cash at the door; lower fee in each pair for seniors (65+), full-time students & active Waldorf teachers; frequency discount tickets are also available.

No previous painting (or gardening) experience is necessary; only a willingness to explore, and a joy in discovery.
