Modern education tells us that what we see, measure, and weigh are the criteria by which we can know the reality of the natural world. And by penetrating ever deeper, we will come to understand the more hidden realities of nature. This perspective can lead to a profound misunderstanding of nature, creating a mistreatment and exploitation of the earth, plants, and animals. This same way of knowing carries into the human realm. By only seeing the outer human being, unhealthy relationships and anti-social attitudes find a foothold in our dealings between one another. We become less human.

Our task in evolution is to become more fully human, not less so. Anthroposophy supports this evolutionary path.
