Location: New York, NYA talk by Robert McDermott, part of a week-long celebration of 100 years of anthroposophy in America
This talk will focus on the first quarter of the 20th century: on pragmatism as the characteristic American way of thinking, as well as major events in the anthroposophical movement.
The second part will discuss the current spiritual state of anthroposophy in America and prospects for the future with respect to religion and spirituality, individuality and the universal human, and the Earth.
Robert McDermott is president emeritus and professor of philosophy and religion at the California Institute of Integral Studies. He has written extensively on Indian and western philosophy and religion. He served as president of the New York Center for Anthroposophy in the 1980s.
