Co-workers hold long-term salaried positions (which includes benefits such as health and retirement). We prefer that applicants for these positions have previous experience working with the disabled. Co-workers, houseparents, and volunteers oversee and assist in the day to day personal care of our disabled residents in their individual households as well as contribute to the wider needs in the community as regards managing or supporting in our workshops, or other ongoing activities, depending upon the experience or special interests they might have. Detroit Waldorf School is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Administration. We are looking to fill this position for the 2017/2018 school year, to begin August 1, 2017. The Administrator provides leadership and supervision in the administrative realm of the school and is responsible for keeping the school running smoothly to support the delivery of curriculum and instruction. The Administrator is hired by the Board of Trustees and works closely with the College of Teachers, administrative staff, faculty, and parent body. Primary Roles: • Holds the big picture with the full Detroit Waldorf School Community • Manages and oversees the office, legal affairs and finances • Hires, supervises, trains and evaluates administrative staff • Acts as the go-to person for parents on school wide issues and concerns • Coordinates partnership with Shared Time Program • Responsible for distribution of mandated safety and health policies • Works with safety committee and facilities manager to review and update emergency preparedness and safety plans annually • Manages legal, regulatory and licensing issues • Participates in Board, College, Faculty, Finance, Development, Personnel, Administrative Council and CHAT (parent group) meetings Detroit Waldorf Administrative Staff: The administrative staff currently includes a fulltime Outreach and Enrollment Director, fulltime Business Manager, fulltime Facilities Manager, fulltime Administrative Assistant/After School Program Coordinator and a part time Development Director. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or higher. The ideal candidate will have completed the Waldorf Administration training and/or has demonstrated experience in administration with a strong background in Waldorf education and Anthroposophy, although we will consider a candidate who does not have these qualifications if willing to learn. The ideal candidate has the ability to communicate well and maintain positive working relationships among co-workers, parents, students and members of the wider community. Strong strategic, analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills are necessary. Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time, year round salaried position. Benefits include tuition remission, health insurance, and increments for Waldorf Training, Advanced Degrees, and recognition of years of experience. Small co-operative nursery seeks teacher for 17-18 school year

Small co-operative preschool seeks teacher. The position requires 30-35 hours per week. We are a small Waldorf inspired preschool. Duties will vary according to experience, but could include being an extra set of hands and eyes throughout the day, setting up of activities, clean up after activities and meals, assisting with nap time & pick up time. Candidates with more experience will be encouraged to lead circle and various activities. All candidates should be willing to remain a grounding, gentle, stable presence in our classroom. Candidate must have extensive experience with children. A knowledge of an early childhood Waldorf classroom is preferred but not necessary. Possible candidates include (but are not limited to) adults who received Waldorf education, past or current Lifeways students, past or current Micha-el students, past or current Waldorf, or Waldorf certification recipients. Prospective candidates must be willing to undergo a state background checks (including fingerprints), physical (using your doctor of choice) and TB test, must submit three references to the state who are willing to mail letters. Candidates must also be willing to receive CPR/First Aid & other state-mandated training. Competitive salary will vary depending on candidate experience. We are a very small school, with 14 current families (but looking to expand) & 4 current staff members. Candidates must be great communicators.
