The School of Spiritual Science
The School of Spiritual Science
and its Sections
The School of Spiritual Science, including its 12 Sections, forms the core of The Anthroposophical Society. It connects people to whom the question of knowledge is also a practical life question-and vice versa. The starting point of anthroposophically-oriented spiritual science is human thought. This approach to knowing is a kind of research unto itself, that is then augmented through consistent observation, reflection, and meditation. The expression of research comes directly through practice itself, which raises issues and questions that are put forward, researched, and developed further in the broader context of the School. The members of the School work on a meditative path of knowledge that develops the human being and connects them to the spiritual beings of the world. Those who take up the work of the School of Spiritual Science, founded by Rudolf Steiner, enliven, inspire, and strengthen the vocational fields which become effective in their relevant working contexts. The universal spiritual source of anthroposophy is deepened by the work in the various Sections. For research in the spiritual field of anthroposophy and its disciplines, perception and stimulation, exchange and communication are essential.
Any member who is prepared not only to take up and maintain anthroposophy, but also to represent it responsibly may apply for membership of the School of Spiritual Science. Such a choice is based on inner freedom and personal commitment and assumes that the applicant has been a member in good standing of The Society.
Anthroposophy seeks to broaden the knowledge and practical experience that is deepened by the spirit for the most diverse fields.

A List of the sections follows
General Anthroposophy
In The General Anthroposophical Section of the School of Spiritual Science, central questions of contemporary humanity and anthroposophy are researched and cultivated.
Youth
Spirituality begins with questions and intuitions. In our youth this search is pure and authentic. That is why we encourage young people to create spaces for discussion in order to find their own language and lifestyle for all that lies beyond words.
Natural Science
As humans we are part of life, its very soul. It becomes conscious in and through us in animals, plants and someday in minerals. The next step is to understand nature, not control it even more but to discover its very essence.
Mathematics | Astronomy
Ancient myths speak of thinking of human beings born from the stars and guided by them. Today, freed from the stars, a new bond can be formed with the universe, which can take humans beyond the sphere of the earth.
Performing Arts
Music, drama, dance, and eurythmy are all art forms of time. They lead us beyond time—it becomes space, panorama. The goal is the imagination, to seek and grasp what is eternal in the moment.
Visual Arts
Our spiritual nature as humans and that of all life becomes visible in painting and sculpture, which is beyond words and concepts. Here we experience what is spiritual, where understanding and feeling are united.
Pedagogy
Pedagogy befitting human beings helps every child to develop its own potential and to understand itself and the world. This type of education encourages children to awaken to what they have intended for life before it begins.
Social Science
We become human beings among other human beings especially when we cultivate community as a living being. If it is healthy, it cultivates soul and spirit and enables all individuals to grow and find themselves.
Medicine
Crisis and transformation are part of the journey to finding oneself. Therefore medicine should not so much seek to defeat the disease as to reawaken the natural health of the organism and give it strength and direction for self-healing.
what we can do at present is to awaken, in this Michael time
How is my Membership related to the
school of Spiritual Science?
After two years as a member in The General Anthroposophical Society, interested individuals may apply for membership in the First Class of the School of Spiritual Science. The School was introduced by Rudolf Steiner during the Christmas Conference.
Anyone can ask for admission to join the School who has been a member of The Anthroposophical Society for at least two years, time enough for those who do so to have developed an understanding for anthroposophy and what it means to represent anthroposophy in the world today, this being the condition for becoming a member of the School.
Participating in the Class strengthens community life, and provides access to esoteric lessons that are designed such that they may deepen one's work in the world. Anyone can engage in the study of anthroposophy in pursuing this path of inner schooling ~ it is the consequence of such activity in community that is of import here. Whatever you can do...begin it now
Concerning all acts of initiative and creation there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would otherwise not have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.
As Goethe said:
'Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, do it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
Begin it now.'
