Annual Conference

The Anthroposophical Society in America

Annual Conference

At its core, anthroposophy is a celebration of being fully human, which finds its highest expression when we unite with one another out of a shared striving that is informed by a true knowledge of the spiritual world.

Each year our annual conference is hosted with this in mind, providing essential points of connection and encounter for the entire membership. Our annual conference is a coming together of the ideas and initiatives that arise in different places, that they may be known everywhere, thereby enriching the life of The Society.

Celebration of Community

The Annual Conference of The Anthroposophical Society in America is our signature event, a coming together in community to engage with themes that provide inspiration for study, research, and initiative throughout the year, enhancing the impact of anthroposophy in America and in the world.

  • Our Signature Event

Through our Annual Conference we seek to enrich and make manifold the life of the Society, by providing opportunities for memebrs and initiative-takers to meet with one another across the country. As such, the Annual Conference is essential in the narrative of anthroposophy in America each year, fostering free connections between members and strengthening community life through intimate interaction, artful workshops, the leading thoughts of engaging speakers, perfomance and festival activities.

The Annual Conference happens in the Autumn during the season of Michaelmas, and is planned around a specific theme, for earnest engagement that provides healing encounter in contemporary culture.

From one year to the next the Annual Conference moves through the regions of the US, to make the event accessible to all members. The Conference is often hosted in Waldorf Schools or anthroposophical community centers, where the spaces are consciously cultivated for human encounter.

  • How to participate

Our Annual Conference includes both in-person and virtual participation options, with online presentations exploring the year’s conference theme offered ahead of the in-person event, and streaming of in-person event highlights for those unable to physically attend.

Each conference includes artistic workshops, presentations by anthroposophical organizations, and the on-going research of active section members of the School of Spiritual Science. There are  performances, festival elements, shared meals, vendor tables, pre and post-conference activities honoring the geography, and the current moment.

Registration is through our online portal. Participants may choose from the following options:

    • In-person registration; includes access to all virtual pre-conference presentations and event recordings
    • Virtual only; including pre-conference presentations and livestream of various in-person presentations. All virtual offerings are recorded.
    • Please contact reception@anthroposophy.org if you are interested in hosting a vending table at the conference.

  • Annual General Business Meeting

Each year during our Annual Conference, and according to Section 202 of the Society’s By-Laws, The Anthroposophical Society in America hosts its Annual General Meeting:

In the meetings of the Anthroposophical Society a great truth can be experienced. When human beings meet together seeking the spirit with unity of purpose then they will find their way to each other

~ they will find the path from soul to soul.
